เพลงพระราชนิพนธ์ลำดับที่ ๒๔ ทรงพระราชนิพนธ์เมื่อเดือนกรกฏาคม พ.ศ.๒๔๙๘ ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้พระเจ้าวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เจ้าจักรพันธ์เพ็ญศิริ นิพนธ์คำร้องภาษาอังกฤษร่วมกับท่านผู้หญิงนพคุณ ทองใหญ่ ณ อยุธยา และท่านผู้หญิงสมโรจน์ สวัสดิกุล ณ อยุธยา ประพันธ์คำร้องภาษาไทย

มีเรื่องเล่าว่า พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงอุ้มสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารีไว้ในอ้อมพระกรข้างหนึ่ง อีกข้างหนึ่งทรงอิเลคโทนเพลงพระราชนิพนธ์ Lullaby แล้วสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอพระองค์น้อยก็หลับไป

This song was composed by His Majesty the King Bhumiphol Adulyadej of Thailand. This song is entitled "ค่ำแล้ว" or directly translated to "nightfall". Prince Chakrapensiriwrote the English lyric, and Khunying Noppakhun Thongyai Na Ayudha and Khunying Somroj Sawasdikul Na Ayudhawrote the Thai lyric.

It was said that His Majesty composed this song while he was carrying his second daughter Princess Sirintorn in one hand, and on the other hand he was trying out the notes on his electrone.
